Summary

A small P-12 School located in Iona, Victoria County Cape Breton.

The rural site overlooking the Bras d'Or Lakes is serviced by single phase power. The building will serve 155 students as well as the larger community which reflects a significant degree of Gaelic culture. Wind data has been collected on the site for several months and a wind turbine is anticipated to supplement the school's power requirements. Other renewable energy strategies are also under consideration including solar collectors and photovoltaics.
