Summary

MPGC is building a Visitation Centre at the southern extremity of its Mount Pleasant Cemetery property near Moore Avenue. This Visitation Centre will fulfill the same functions as other Centres built by MPGC as well as other cemetery operators in Toronto, across Canada and throughout North America.

The Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre will be located at the south end of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, between Mount Pleasant and Bayview, north of Moore Avenue. The Centre will consist of a single building with a footprint of approximately 12,000 square feet. Its height will be lower than the neighbouring town homes at the southern Moore Ave. elevation rising to three storeys at the back chapel area that is internal to the cemetery and will contain approximately 24,000 square feet of activity areas. It will be built with high quality brick and stone that is in keeping with the existing community architecture. The building will contain visitation rooms, reception rooms, a large chapel and administrative space. There will be no body preparation or embalming rooms and the Centre will have no impact on existing graves and interment rights.
