Summary

The New Joamie Elementary School is a new school in replacement of the original school recently lost due to fire. The school is to be located on the existing site of the original school in Iqaluit, NU. The town of Iqaluit is the Territorial capital of the Nunavut Territory and is located on the southern tip of Baffin Island in the Canadian Arctic. Joamie School will be constructed in a continuous permafrost location in a severe climate where extended periods of sub -40degC temperatures, blowing and drifting snow and limited daylight are common in the winter months.
