Xstrata's Nickel Rim South building is a 5,565 square meter building and has a sectored program which consists of: 2 level administrative offices with 2 level atrium - concourse, dry facilities, operations & staging, and mechanical & electrical work shops. The building will be built by a modular building manufacturer. Consistent with Xstrata's core corporate values, a decision was made early in the design process to design and construct the new Office / Dry Complex in a manner that used land, water, energy, and material resources appropriately and efficiently in order to provides a safe, comfortable, and productive indoor environment for building occupants, in accordance with the principles of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).
