Summary

Peau is going to be a wellness facility that merges medical aesthetics with traditional spa therapies in a less clinical, more appealing setting. Medical aesthetics on our premises will be supervised by a specialist dermatologist and include anti-ageing treatments and therapies, laser skin resurfacing, laser hair removal, and several other skin rejuvenation and cosmetic procedures. Spa professionals will complement the work of the medical professionals with a menu of wellness services that include, facial treatments, massage therapy, footcare and handcare. The company's mission is to educate guests and to create awareness so that they can make well-informed decisions and ensure that, through an ethical approach to cosmetic medicine, all treatments are carried out to the highest standards of safety and efficacy. Furthermore, Peau is making a strong commitment to environmental and personal sustainability.

Located in downtown Montreal, in a dense neighbourhood, near public services, the clinic is making a great effort in choosing materials, furniture and products that are healthy and environmentally friendly. Most of the material will come from local manufacturers and will be durable and timeless looking as the clinic will be located in this building for at least 10 years. An effort will be made for potable water use reduction through choosing low flow fixtures for all faucets, toilets and showerheads. Electrical equipment and lightings will be energy efficient and energy performance of the mechanical system will be reviewed and upgraded for its compliance with ASHRAE 90.1 standards. The air quality is an important factor, as the clinic is located in a medical building. The system will be calibrated to ensure a minimum input of fresh air during working hours. To keep the air free from contaminants, an indoor air quality management plan will be implemented during construction. Glues, paints, sealants and furniture will be low emitting. Moroever, ecological maintenance will be provided to the facility. The clinic will build client awareness regarding its health and ecological commitment through educational signage in strategic places.
