A new Provincial Courthouse will be constructed in Sioux Lookout through a major renovation of the existing OPP Detachment along with a new 390 sq.m. Courthouse addition to the existing structure. The project will be designed for a LEED Silver Certification. The original structure was constructed in t 1931 and is deemed to have historic value in the community. Some LEED highlights are the high efficiency, fully automated electrical and mechanical systems and several water efficiency measures such as low flow faucets and dual flush toilets. As well, the project will re-use much of the existing building structure and exterior finish.
