This health campus will be developed in multiple phases for a total area of 200,000-245,000 square metres (net area) to accommodate approximately 650 beds. The first phases consist of 170,000 square metres (building gross). Phase 1 will involve the development of a 238 bed (plus shell space) tertiary/ quaternary care health campus and will provide a wide range of services including: medical/ surgical inpatient units, general surgery, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, emergency and ambulatory care. Phase 1A will involve the construction of the central services building and will include electrical generators, housekeeping areas, waste management, physical plant space and loading. Subsequent phases will expand the tertiary/ quaternary care health campus to a total of approximately 650 inpatient unit beds and will provide services including: cardiac sciences, trauma services, neurosciences, maternal newborn, and the expansion of specific services included in Phase 1.
