The Regina office of Stantec Consulting Ltd., an international consulting firm that has exhibited considerable growth in recent years, has nearly doubled in space requirements since the company first consolidated space in the present downtown location in 2003. With recent acquisitions, the firm is no longer able to occupy only the complete third floor of the facility. As plans were contemplated to expand into the 2nd floor, the conscious decision was made to design the new tenant fit-up as a showcase, green building space that would speak to the sustainable goals of the company.
Stantec Architecture Ltd., the specific tenant group moving into the new area, is a leader in adopting green building strategies and applications within projects. The new space will be designed to efficiently integrate sustainable planning strategies, materials, systems and furnishings that will work to educate and influence clients and colleagues alike. The overall goal is to show how modest, intelligent application of sustainable ideals can lead to a truly enhanced environment for the employees, while adopting the ‘practice what you preach’ philosophy but adopting LEED-CI certification as a measure of success.
