Summary

The Enterprise Centre is part of the Station 20 West project. The five components of the overall project are 60 affordable housing units, a Saskatoon Public Library branch, a neighbourhood grocery store, an integrated health and social services centre, and a public gathering space. The latter three components will be included in the Enterprise Centre.

The purpose of the project is to improve the quality of life and stimulate the community economic development of the core west side neighbourhoods of Caswell Hill, Riversdale, King George, Pleasant Hill, and Westmount. This will be achieved through realizing the following objectives:

  1. To enhance the services available to the residents of the five core neighborhood communities by creating and locating the services in the community and by creating service synergies from co-location.

  2. To create a community “people place” in the heart of the core communities through the development of a welcoming “town-square” setting that includes a plaza for social interaction and gatherings in addition to becoming the service centre for the communities.

  3. To stimulate the revitalization of marginalized neighbourhoods and the renewal and development of the 20th Street enterprise zone.

  4. To build Station 20 West Community Enterprise Centre as a showcase for green technologies in office and commercial building design.
