Summary

The Edmonton Police Service determined that a new divisional station is required in the Southwest area of Edmonton due to the population growth and geographical expansion in this area of the city. The proposed new facility will be approximately 6,000m2 in area and will accommodate changing staff needs, community partnerships, social services agencies as well as the core police service requirements traditionally found in a divisional station. The new building is required to fulfill requirements of new policing strategies being implemented by the Edmonton Police Service.

City of Edmonton guidelines mandate a minimum of LEED Silver. The team will be treating this as a minimum benchmark and is currently in the process of reviewing the potential of achieving a Gold Rating.
