This project, will be a total of 29 732 sqft (including basement). This square footage is based on the following: a complete gutting of the existing 14 322 sqft. (one storey) space and addition of 1400 sqft (one storey) facing Livingston Ave. (with no basement), and a second addition of 7000 sqft ground (one storey) and 7000 sqft. unfinished basement. In the existing building, the renovation will consist of a complete new layout (space, furniture and circulation, HVAC, lighting, mechanical and finishes) - only the 3 perimeter walls and roof will remain. In the additions, they will be considered as new builds. As for the site work, there will be work done to the new entrance of the building. This will include: adding new parking spaces, walkway, landscaping, and site lighting. The above project will incorporate LEED design - NC hoping to achieve the Gold standard.
The new addition will comprise of a new council chamber and meeting areas as well as new offices for staff members.
