Summary

The New Engineering Building (NEB) will be a 3-storey structure, containing labs, office space, and teaching facilities, which is targeting LEED certification. The facility will include a green roof, rain water collection for re-use in sewage conveyance and irrigation, solar chimneys to augment the HVAC system with natural ventilation and visible structural elements with instrumentation to be used as teaching tools. The mechanical systems will be housed in the basement, with chilled water and steam supplied from an off site central plant via a service tunnel.
