The building is a 3,974 sq.m. facility for a leading edge animal welfare organization whose mandate is to promote not only the humane treatment of all animals but also better treatment of the world around us including the environment. The facilities will include an animal shelter, public classroom, adoption gallery, animal clinic, and office space. The sustainable strategies include an on-site stormwater retention pond, earth energy (geothermal) heating and cooling, and carefully selected materials to be consistent with LEED strategies.
